The Ohio Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, is preparing to launch a new eLicense LPI (Licensing, Permitting and Inspections) Portal by late October 2025. This portal will move key licensing functions online, including application submissions, document uploads, payments, and license management.

According to the department, users will have "24/7 Online Access & Self-Service: Apply, renew and manage your license any time online through the eLicense LPI portal." The portal aims to speed up processing times by automating approvals and reducing paper-based transactions. It will also provide electronic communications and real-time updates on application status.

The changes will affect all REPL customers. Impacted groups include salespersons, brokers, brokerage firms, land professionals, appraisers, home inspectors, continuing education providers, cemeteries, FRE dealers and salespersons, VSA entities, AMC organizations, and federal AMCs.

To use the new system when it launches later in October 2025, individuals must create an OHIID account. "The purpose of an OHIID is to provide a secure, self-service digital identity platform for both Ohio residents and state workforce members. You must first create an OHIID account to access the new eLicense LPI portal and manage your license," states the release. Those who already have an OH/ID from other agencies such as BMV or Ohio Taxation can use their existing credentials.

Instructions for creating an OHIID are available at ohid.ohio.gov by clicking on "Create Account" and following prompts for personal information entry. Assistance is offered through a step-by-step guide or via the OHIID Contact Center at 614-644-OHID (6443), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More details about the portal rollout can be found at com.ohio.gov/newsystem.

As part of preparations for this transition period, the Ohio Division of Real Estate will be offline from October 17th to 19th. The department advises completing any necessary business before these dates to avoid service delays.
