Each day, people may set out to have a productive and positive experience, but often find themselves wondering what happened by the end of the day. According to Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth, one way to address this is by identifying daily actions that contribute to a sense of ease and flow. She emphasizes the importance of being proactive and consistent in approaching each day to achieve regular results across different areas of life.
Roth suggests developing a list of ten daily habits tailored to personal goals. These could include small tasks like making the bed or drinking enough water based on general health guidelines. "There are countless items you personally may want to add to your Ten Daily Habits list. This is a very individual process, so you get to decide which items are in alignment with you," she says.
In addition to personal habits, Roth recommends creating a separate list for business-related tasks. She notes that consistency is more important than quantity: "If ten seems too much to take on at first, start with two. The point is to be consistent in your approach." This practice can help build confidence and make it easier to achieve any goal.
She encourages individuals not only to enjoy building their lists but also advises against focusing on obligations that feel forced: "Have fun with this one, creating a list that supports you and what you want, veering away from what you think you ‘should’ be doing. Rule #1 — no ‘shoulding’ on yourself!"
