As the year draws to a close, Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth encourages individuals to evaluate their personal spaces and consider decluttering in preparation for the new year. This idea is inspired by a children's song with lyrics, "Clean up, clean up, everybody do their share, clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere." Roth suggests that organizing and clearing out unnecessary items can create a more spacious environment.
Roth observes an increase in storage units around neighborhoods, raising questions about why people pay to store unused items. She acknowledges that there are legitimate reasons for needing extra storage but emphasizes the benefits of letting go of unneeded possessions.
Throughout her career, Roth has noticed that clients often experience business growth after tidying their workspaces. While she cannot explain why this happens, she notes its effectiveness.
Roth advises starting the cleanup process either by making a list or diving straight into organizing. She recommends taking small steps and building momentum over time.
Marilou Butcher Roth owns The MBR Group, a coaching and training company focused on helping REALTORS live and work more inspired lives. She also serves as Broker/Owner of Group REALTORS in Cincinnati and is involved with the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors.
