Ohio REALTORS hosts legal updates seminar across multiple cities

Ohio REALTORS is hosting a series of legal and legislative updates seminars across various cities. The sessions will be led by Todd Book, Vice President of Legal and Legislative Affairs, and Stephen McCoy, Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs. These seminars aim to provide insights into state and federal regulatory issues, license law updates, recent cases, and other legal matters pertinent to the real estate industry.

The seminar topics include an update on significant state legislation affecting real estate, including the state operating budget. There will also be discussions on legislation concerning wholesaling, property taxes, foreclosure changes, squatters, foreign adversaries, and short-term rentals. Updated statistics from the Division of Real Estate will be presented along with legislative updates to buyer representation agreements.

Other key areas covered are top license law violations and case law updates focusing on antitrust lawsuits against NAR and buyer representation agreements. Additionally, hot topics such as stigmatized property and offsite conditions, generative AI, disclosure of inspection reports, advertising/social media practices, and surveillance on property will be discussed.

The registration fee for attending these seminars is $75, which includes three hours of core law credit. Interested participants can register for their preferred location through provided links.
