Would you consider yourself a leader? This question is at the heart of Marilou Butcher Roth's latest insights on leadership. Roth, a Master Coach and owner of The MBR Group, challenges individuals to recognize their potential as leaders in various aspects of life.

In her piece, Roth suggests an exercise: "Walk to your nearest mirror, take a look at yourself, and say out loud 'I am a leader.'" She acknowledges that many might not physically do this but encourages readers to reflect on their feelings about identifying as leaders.

Roth argues that leadership is not confined to formal positions. "Leaders present in many different areas of our lives," she writes. She emphasizes the impact individuals can have through actions and words, often without realizing it.

To cultivate leadership qualities, Roth outlines seven practices: making an impact, listening fully, speaking authentically, maintaining self-awareness (emotional intelligence), living intentionally, being open to learning, and creating balance in life.

Roth encourages readers to see these practices as growth opportunities. By doing so, they may experience a shift in perspective when considering themselves as leaders.
