In honor of the 30th anniversary of the movie “Forrest Gump,” The Ohio State University Marching Band performed a tribute during halftime at the Western Michigan University game.

TBDBITL performed the film’s “Feather Theme,” as well as tunes from the soundtrack like “Running on Empty,” “Fortunate Son” and “Go Your Own Way.” Formations included Forrest sitting on the bench, a ping pong match, and Forrest and Jenny – who, as fans know, go together like peas and carrots.

Joining the band at halftime for the 55th year was The Ohio State University Alumni Band. Both bands contributed to a quadruple Script Ohio on the field in Ohio Stadium. TBDBITL marched in the south endzone while the alumni took the north, east, and west.

The four i-dotters were Sam George, a music education and jazz studies graduate; Joseph Koehne, TBDBITL 1991-1993; Richard “Brian” Allender, TBDBITL 1987-1991; and Pastor James H. Meacham, TBDBITL 1962-1965.
