Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth draws inspiration from the classic movie, "The Wizard of Oz," to offer guidance on achieving personal desires. In the film, Dorothy follows the yellow brick road to seek help from the wizard in returning home to Kansas.
Roth suggests imagining a similar path toward one's own goals. She emphasizes that many people are often not fully present in their daily lives, rushing from one task to another. By focusing on being present in each moment, individuals can experience life differently.
"I invite you first to practice being present in each moment - not thinking ten steps ahead of where you are. BE where you are in each moment!" Roth advises. Once this sense of presence is achieved, she encourages envisioning the yellow brick road as a metaphorical guide for making choices.
"Imagine that road is your 'yes,' and off of the road is your 'no.' As you move through each day, tuning into yourself and maintaining presence as much as possible, use this image to gauge your choices," she explains. This approach helps individuals determine whether they are on their desired path or straying into less favorable territory.
In conclusion, Roth poses a reflective question: "Now, I ask you, who is the wizard?? That would indeed be you!!"
