The August 17 implementation date resulting from the NAR Settlement changes is quickly approaching. In this edition of Ohio REALTORS Insider, CEO Scott Williams addresses the upcoming changes and what members need to know as the new business practices go into effect.

"Remember, these practice changes will go into effect on August 17, but we are encouraging members to implement them now. A Class Action Notice will be sent out on or after August 17 to anyone who has sold a home listed on an MLS anywhere in the United States where a commission was paid to any brokerage in connection with the sale of the home. We expect more questions to arise after the notices are sent. The settlement is still subject to final court approval on November 24," said Williams.

"Throughout the next few months, expect a series of new forms, communication pieces, and training sessions from Ohio REALTORS designed to address these changes comprehensively. Whether you are interacting with agents within your brokerage, sellers, or potential buyers, these resources will be available to help guide you into the new way of doing real estate."
