The Ohio State University Marching Band and the Ohio University Marching 110 performed together during halftime at Saturday’s football game between the Buckeyes and the Bobcats. This joint performance marked only the third time in history that Ohio State has shared the field with an opposing team’s band during a halftime show.

The bands played a selection of classic songs, including “Get It On,” “Open Up Wide,” “Play That Funky Music,” “What is Hip?” and “Hard to Say I’m Sorry/Get Away.” During their performance, they formed shapes such as hearts, a trumpet, and spelled out “Ohio” on the field.

A pregame tribute was made to William (Ted) McDaniel, who started arranging music for The Ohio State University Marching Band in 1981.

Brayden Hyder, a landscape architecture major from Grove City, Ohio, served as Saturday’s i-dotter.
