Congressman Mike Carey, who represents Ohio’s 15th district in the U.S. Congress, announced a series of legislative developments on his official Twitter account between July 16 and July 17, 2025.

On July 16, Carey stated, "Today I reintroduced my bipartisan PAINT Act alongside my colleague, @RepDannyDavis. This bill cuts red tape so Medicare patients can access breakthrough medical treatments without unnecessary delays. Read more here: https://t.co/0DgC0qXcC8". The PAINT Act is presented as a measure aimed at improving access to innovative medical treatments for Medicare recipients by reducing bureaucratic obstacles.

Later that day, Carey highlighted another legislative milestone with the message: "The HALT Fentanyl Act is now law! Too many families have lost loved ones to this deadly drug. Now that @POTUS has signed it, we will crack down on fentanyl and see fewer tragedies for Ohio families." The post underscores efforts to address the opioid crisis through new federal legislation targeting fentanyl distribution and abuse.

On July 17, Carey posted about tax policy changes, writing: "Our @HouseGOP reconciliation law delivers major tax relief to working Ohioans and sets communities up for success thanks to work done by the @WaysandMeansGOP! https://t.co/MZRMa7cff4". This tweet refers to recently enacted tax relief measures intended to benefit working residents of Ohio.

Carey has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Steve Stivers as representative of Ohio’s 15th district. Born in Sabina, Ohio in 1971 and currently residing in Columbus, he graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993.
