Rep. Joyce Beatty, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 3rd district, has recently voiced her opinions on several issues through social media posts. Her tweets cover topics ranging from healthcare policies to community events and educational achievements.

On May 14, Rep. Beatty criticized proposed Medicaid cuts by House Republicans, stating that they aim to "bankroll billionaire tax breaks." She expressed her concern by saying "This isn’t fiscal responsibility. It’s cruelty—by design." Beatty emphasized the Democratic party's commitment to opposing these measures with public support, highlighting the importance of accessible healthcare.

On May 15, Beatty shared her experience at a culinary event, writing about her participation in the 43rd Annual March of Dimes Gourmet Gala where she introduced her "homestyle Mac n’ Cheese Cups with Shrimp." She thanked the organizers for a successful bipartisan event that raised $1.5 million for health initiatives, saying "It was a pleasure to debut my homestyle Mac n’ Cheese Cups with Shrimp at the 43rd Annual March of Dimes Gourmet Gala..."

The following day, May 16, Rep. Beatty attended Georgetown University's commencement ceremony for the McCourt School of Public Policy Class of 2025 as an inaugural Tri-Caucus Congressional Fellow. She expressed honor in celebrating alongside Frank McCourt and acknowledged his contributions to education: "Honored to celebrate the McCourt School of Public Policy Class of 2025 at Georgetown University’s commencement ceremony."

Joyce Beatty has been an active member of Congress since replacing Mike Turner in 2013 and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. Born in Dayton in 1950 and now residing in Columbus, she is also an alumna of Central State University.
