Mike Carey discusses housing partnership and reintroduces tax credit bill in recent updates

Congressman Mike Carey, representing Ohio's 15th district, has shared updates on collaborative efforts and legislative initiatives through Twitter. In his recent tweets, Carey focuses on community and affordable housing solutions as well as a tax credit bill.

On April 21, Congressman Carey expressed gratitude towards CEO Shannon TL Isom and Niel Jurist from the Community Shelter Board following their recent visit. Their discussion centered on partnering to address the community and deeply affordable housing shortage. Carey stated, "Thank you to CEO Shannon TL Isom and Niel Jurist from the Community Shelter Board who stopped in Friday to discuss ways we might partner to solve the shortage of community and deeply affordable housing."

The following day, on April 22, Congressman Carey provided additional resources through a Tweet with a link that read, "More here: https://t.co/SB85qiEIsE."

On the same day, April 22, Carey announced the reintroduction of a legislative bill aimed at improving tax incentives for the older workforce. He stated, "This week, I reintroduced my EITC for Older Workers Act. The bipartisan bill would eliminate the age cap for workers to qualify for the earned-income tax credit (EITC). Looking forward to getting it passed."

Mike Carey was born in Sabina, Ohio, in 1971 and has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021. A graduate of Ohio State University with a BA, he currently resides in Columbus.
