Over the years, Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth has observed a recurring pattern in her coaching practice. Clients often arrive with a problem or an area of their life they wish to improve, which becomes the initial focus of their sessions. As clients begin to experience relief and feel that their expectations have been met, a new opportunity emerges.

Roth explains that if clients remain open, they can explore the possibilities available to them beyond their initial concerns. "We enter the realm of expansive thinking and living," she states. This phase involves exploring clients' deepest desires and addressing any obstacles that may arise.

Roth advises individuals to reflect on how much energy they are investing in their problems. She suggests shifting focus by asking questions like, "I wonder what I can learn from this experience?" or "I wonder why this is showing up for me now?" This approach encourages curiosity rather than blame and helps minimize the impact of problems.

As individuals move past persistent issues, Roth believes they open themselves to new possibilities. She encourages considering what life could look like when living from one's fullest potential and bringing personal strengths into daily life. According to Roth, everyone possesses unique "super powers"—things we naturally excel at and enjoy doing.

Marilou Butcher Roth owns The MBR Group, a coaching and training company primarily serving REALTORS who seek inspiration in work and life. She is also Broker/Owner of Group REALTORS in Cincinnati and serves on the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors.
