Ohio home sales rise by nearly three percent in November

Home sales in Ohio saw an increase in November 2024, with both sales price and dollar volume rising compared to the previous year, as per a report from Ohio REALTORS.

The number of homes sold in November reached 10,270, marking a 2.8% rise from the 9,995 home sales recorded in November last year. The average sales price across the state was $294,301, representing an 8.3% increase from $271,856 in November 2023.

"Ohio's housing market continues to show its resilience and strength, as demonstrated by the increase in home sales and rising property values this November," said Ali Whitley, President of Ohio REALTORS. "With a 2.8% uptick in sales and an impressive 8.3% jump in the average sales price compared to last year, these numbers reflect the confidence of buyers and the ongoing demand for homeownership in our state."

All 14 local markets monitored reported an increase in average sale prices compared to November of the previous year.

From January through November this year, home sales activity increased by 1.1% over the same period last year. Year-to-date figures show that 121,146 homes were sold up from last year's total of 119,774 for the same timeframe. The average sale price during this period was $291,475—a rise of 7.4% from $271,494 last year.

Data provided by Multiple Listing Services to Ohio REALTORS includes residential closings for new and existing single-family homes and condominiums/co-ops.
