Next week marks Halloween, a time that reminds many of the challenges faced during the COVID pandemic. Reflecting on those times, Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth recalls how her clients experienced underlying discontent amid various global crises such as viruses, fires, hurricanes, and even killer hornets.
Roth emphasizes that individuals handle these events differently. She advises people to be aware of their personal reactions to challenges and to recognize emotions like anger or fear when they arise. "The key here is to be aware of how you personally move through these challenges," she states.
She encourages self-awareness as a cornerstone of emotional intelligence. "Paying attention to what is happening for you is at the heart of being an emotionally intelligent human," Roth notes.
Roth suggests that if one notices feelings of edginess or anger towards loved ones, it might be beneficial to explore deeper emotions such as sadness or fear. "It may appear that you are edgy and angry, and I invite you to delve just a bit deeper," she says.
Importantly, Roth reassures readers that acknowledging these emotions doesn't require immediate action. "When you can acknowledge what is truly happening within yourself, the grip it has on you loosens," she explains.
Her message concludes with encouragement: "Don’t be afraid to look - no tricks here!!"
