City of Worthington issued the following announcement on Mar 8.

Worthington City Council voted at its March 7, 2022 meeting to lift the mask requirement for indoor spaces in the City of Worthington, effective Thursday, March 10, 2022.

The City of Worthington will no longer require masks in City-owned buildings.

See legislation here

Worthington's health agency, Columbus Public Health, recommended the mask requirement be lifted based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance that ranks Franklin County at a medium community level. Levels can be low, medium or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.

Guidance recommends masks should still be worn if you:

  • Are not vaccinated
  • Have an underlying condition or live with someone who does
  • Have a child too young to get the vaccine
  • Recently tested positive for COVID-19
  • Are in a healthcare facility of other business that requires them
  • Are using public transportation
