Representative Josh Williams, a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, recently used his social media platform to announce new legislative initiatives and highlight previous accomplishments. His posts on September 25, 2025, addressed issues ranging from judicial discretion in immigration-related cases to parental rights and family support programs.

In a post made at 16:44 UTC on September 25, Williams stated: "If an illegal alien commits a crime in Ohio, current law states that judges have individual discretion in considering immigration status in court proceedings. I am introducing legislation to require it. Under my bill, judges are MANDATED to consider whether someone is here". The proposed legislation would shift the current practice by making it mandatory for judges to take immigration status into account during court proceedings involving non-citizens.

Later that day at 20:25 UTC, Williams referenced his involvement with family assistance policy: "I was proud of our work in the legislature to pass the Child Cred Care Program in last year's budget and it's now officially available to all eligible families and employers in Ohio! I am running for Congress to be a champion for strong families— and I have the record to back". The Child Cred Care Program was included as part of Ohio’s most recent state budget and aims to provide financial relief for child care expenses among eligible residents and participating employers.

At 22:08 UTC on September 25, Williams addressed parental rights for unmarried fathers: "When a child is born to unmarried parents in Ohio, current law gives fathers far fewer rights than mothers. The law arbitrarily sidelining a willing and responsible parent simply does not serve the interests of the child. That's why I am introducing legislation to ensure that". His forthcoming bill seeks changes that would address what he describes as inequities between mothers’ and fathers’ legal standing when children are born outside marriage.

These announcements come as Representative Williams continues his campaign for Congress. In his communications, he has emphasized legislative efforts related both to public safety measures concerning immigration enforcement and reforms intended to strengthen family structures through policy changes.
