Representative Josh Williams, a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, used his social media account on September 8, 2025, to comment on issues related to crime and social safety nets.

In one post dated September 8, 2025, Williams criticized what he described as lenient policies in certain U.S. cities. He stated: "This KILLER had fourteen prior arrests, yet was still allowed to roam the streets in a Democrat-run city because of their soft-on-crime policies. An innocent girl was able to survive a literal war in Europe but not a blue city in America."

Later that day, Williams shared his personal experience with disability and government assistance. On September 8, 2025, he wrote: "I spent half a decade of my life fully disabled. Unlike most politicians, I know what it’s like to be on government assistance. Democrats want social safety nets to hold you in perpetual poverty. I’m the candidate who wants to get you off them so you can chase the American dream."

In another post on September 8, 2025, Williams referenced the case of Iryna Zarutska and discussed legislative actions he has taken regarding repeat offenders. He said: "We can never allow what happened to Iryna Zarutska to happen to anyone again. In the Ohio legislature, I personally authored and passed bills to crack down on repeat offenders. And I'm running to Congress to fight even harder to punish criminals and stand up for victims."

Williams is currently serving as an Ohio state representative and has announced his candidacy for Congress.
