State Rep. Nick Santucci | The Ohio House of Representatives
Rep. Nick Santucci, a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, has recently addressed several key issues affecting Ohio through his posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On September 3, 2025, Santucci drew attention to drug trafficking and human trafficking concerns in Ohio. He wrote, "The cartel crisis doesn’t stop at the border, it’s in Ohio. Fentanyl floods our communities, and cartels fuel human trafficking networks across our state. We must fight both with tougher enforcement, border security, and support for victims."
The following day, September 4, 2025, Santucci highlighted efforts to improve workforce development in Cleveland. He stated, "Edwin’s in Cleveland is transforming workforce development by giving individuals a second chance and the tools to succeed. Edwins proves that when people are given dignity, skills, and opportunity, they don’t just work, they thrive & strengthen our communities."
On September 5, 2025, Santucci discussed economic growth and infrastructure investment after meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. He posted, "I had the chance to stand and speak with U.S. Secretary of Commerce @howardlutnick on how Ohio must partner with our federal government to invest in infrastructure that prepares sites for growth and attracts new businesses. Proud to advocate for Ohio in Washington."
Fentanyl continues to be a significant public health concern in Ohio; according to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics provisional data from late 2023, fentanyl was involved in more than 80% of overdose deaths statewide (https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/drug-overdose-data.htm). Workforce development programs like Edwin's are part of broader initiatives across the country aimed at helping formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrate into society by providing job training and employment opportunities.
Santucci's advocacy for federal-state partnerships on infrastructure aligns with ongoing efforts by state governments to secure federal funding for projects intended to spur local economic development.
