On September 2, Williams wrote, "54 people were shot and seven were killed in his city over the weekend. The response from the Mayor with an 80% disapproval rating is calling for riots if President Trump decides to actually do something about it." Later that day, Williams posted another statement regarding crime prevention efforts: "The places in Chicago where the federal government would be cracking down on violent crime are not the ones the mostly white liberals and Democratic politicians protesting against it are forced to live— and that tells you everything you need to know."
