Congressman Mike Carey, who represents Ohio’s 15th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing crime in Washington, D.C., and highlighting actions taken by the President to improve safety in the nation's capital.

On September 2, 2025, Carey stated: "Crime in Washington, D.C. has been a serious problem for too long affecting too many people.

Since the President took action, crime is decreasing and our nation's capital is getting safer."

The following day, on September 3, he added: "Crime in Washington has personally affected my staff and others, including Members of Congress being carjacked near the Capitol building.

@POTUS is making our nation's capital safer for Ohioans, Americans, and visitors from around the world."

Later that same day, Carey shared another update about meeting with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine: "Great to welcome @GovMikeDeWine to my office in DC today to catchup!"

Carey has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Steve Stivers. He was born in Sabina, Ohio in 1971 and currently resides in Columbus. Carey graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993.
