Rep. Joyce Beatty, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 3rd district since 2013, used her social media platform this week to highlight several legislative and policy issues, including the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, energy costs, and support for expanded social services.
On August 20, 2025, Rep. Beatty marked a significant milestone in American history by stating: "This week, we celebrate the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment being ratified, giving women the right to vote, a major milestone in the ongoing fight for voting rights. As we continue the fight for voting rights for all, I'm thinking of the activists that came before us that". The post referenced ongoing efforts to protect and expand voting rights.
Later on August 20, Beatty commented on proposed changes to clean energy policy with concerns about consumer costs: "Here's what repealing clean energy means: a $400 INCREASE in YOUR energy bills! The Republican economy agenda only makes the cost of living more expensive for working Americans. And Democrats aren't standing for it."
On August 23, she shared her involvement in bipartisan legislation focused on increasing support for families in Ohio: "I proudly joined Rep. Smith and Rep. Bonamici to reintroduce legislation that increases funding and expands service coordinator programs. These programs are essential to providing Ohio families with critical social services like health care, food, and job training. Read more at https://t.co/kYuFTSh9iB".

Born in Dayton in 1950 and currently residing in Columbus at age 73, Beatty graduated from Central State University with a BA in 1972.
