Josh Williams | The Ohio House of Representatives
Representative Josh Williams, a Republican candidate seeking to represent Ohio’s 9th congressional district, posted a series of statements on his social media account on August 15, 2025. In the posts, Williams addressed attacks from the Democratic Party, announced an endorsement from a prominent Ohio official, and commented on public safety issues.
In his first post of the day, Williams wrote: "We're still over a year out from the election and the Democratic Party is already attacking me. Clearly they're terrified of an inner city Toledo kid who rejected their ideology of victimhood. Get ready, Democrats, I'm about to become your worst nightmare." (August 15, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Williams announced a key endorsement: "Grateful to have the endorsement of Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore & Former Montgomery County Sheriff @PhilPlummerOH. Phil has spent his career protecting Ohioans & defending our values. I’ll bring that same commitment to Congress when we flip OH-09." (August 15, 2025).
That evening, he addressed concerns about public safety and government accountability: "Your zip code should not determine whether your government decides to consider you worthy of protection. Americans should be able to safely walk to their neighborhood store without being the victim of a violent crime." (August 15, 2025).
Williams is running for Ohio's 9th congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the upcoming election cycle. The district includes parts of northwest Ohio and has been considered competitive in recent elections.
