Rep. Joyce Beatty, who represents Ohio’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on August 1, 2025, addressing issues ranging from healthcare policy to LGBTQ+ rights and public media funding.
In her first post of the day, Beatty highlighted a discussion with local leaders about federal health programs and recent legislative changes: "Led a roundtable today with Central Ohio leaders on how Medicare & Medicaid uplift our communities—and how Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, now law, threatens it all. Later that evening, she referenced a meeting focused on equality for LGBTQ+ Americans: "Earlier, I had an insightful and important conversation with Kelley Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign, about the challenges the LGBTQ+ community is facing in 2025 and how we can all work together to make equality the standard. https://t.co/CvefQeIS2k" (August 1, 2025).
In her final tweet of the day, Beatty commented on funding cuts affecting public broadcasting: "The MAGA culture war just claimed another victim: CPB. This is a devastating loss—and a clear reminder that slashing funding has real consequences. Public media once had bipartisan support. Now, MAGA is trying to silence what informs, educates, and empowers us. https://t.co/KcYihpYSgm" (August 1, 2025).
