U.S. Representative Joyce Beatty, who represents Ohio’s 3rd district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 15 and 16, 2025, highlighting legislative milestones and her recent engagement with community organizations.
On July 15, Beatty reflected on the anniversary of significant financial legislation: "15 years ago, Dodd-Frank became law — protecting consumers and holding Wall Street accountable after the 2008 crash hit hardworking families. While Republicans try to turn back the clock and risk another crisis, Democrats are fighting to preserve the protections that safeguard".
The following day, she discussed her participation in an event focused on issues affecting Black men and boys: "Yesterday, I joined the Moriah Group for a briefing detailing challenges Black men and boys face in our country. Thank you to the Moriah Group for organizing this important event!"
Later on July 16, Beatty acknowledged Congressional staffers’ contributions at the same event: "Hey Members, see your staff here? They might work for you, but yesterday, they were #TeamBeatty! Staffers are what help make the Hill run — proud to have gathered with these young people for a briefing on the challenges facing Black men and boys and the solutions we can".
Joyce Beatty has represented Ohio’s 3rd District in Congress since 2013 after previously serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. She was born in Dayton in 1950 and currently resides in Columbus. Beatty earned her undergraduate degree from Central State University in 1972.
