Joyce Beatty addresses justice advocacy and voting rights in recent statements

Representative Joyce Beatty, who has served Ohio’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2013 and previously represented constituents in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008, recently addressed several key issues on her social media account. Beatty, born in Dayton, Ohio in 1950 and a graduate of Central State University, used her platform to discuss justice advocacy, voting rights legislation, and healthcare professionals.

On July 12, 2025, Beatty referenced her participation at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's national convention: "ICYMI: At the 57th National Convention of @dstinc1913 I delivered a charge to my sorors—and to everyone fighting for justice. In a post dated July 15, 2025, she reflected on her history of activism alongside John Lewis and called for legislative action: "I marched with John Lewis in Selma, Washington & Dayton for voting rights. This week, 5 years after his passing, that fight continues. Congress must pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act & the Freedom to Vote Act.

Later that same day, Beatty highlighted her support for healthcare workers by sharing an encounter with two physical therapists: "Physical therapists save lives! I ran into two incredible physical therapists, advocating for long term solutions to protect access to critical care. Thank you, Aimee and Jessica, for everything you do! https://t.co/OCaDXRKqxa".

Joyce Beatty currently resides in Columbus and has been recognized for her longstanding commitment to public service both at the state and federal levels.
