Congressman Mike Carey, who has represented Ohio's 15th district since 2021, recently shared a series of tweets discussing the impact and intentions behind a new legislative bill. Born in Sabina, Ohio in 1971 and currently residing in Columbus, Carey graduated from Ohio State University with a BA in 1993.
On July 7, 2025, Congressman Carey posted about the House GOP reconciliation package. He stated that "The @HouseGOP reconciliation package delivers on the promises we made to the American people." According to him, one of the main objectives this year was to extend and expand tax cuts for the working class initially passed in 2017.
In another tweet on the same day, he elaborated further by stating "In our bill, we made good on those promises. Let’s take a look at what that means." He emphasized that their efforts have prevented what would have been "the largest tax increase in American history" by extending tax cuts from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
Furthermore, Carey expressed optimism about the economic impact of this legislation. On July 7, he tweeted that "This bill becoming law is expected to create unprecedented economic growth for workers and the country." He anticipated increases in real wages and job creation as outcomes of this legislative action.
