She noted her appreciation for the "artists, neighbors, and changemakers" who inspire her daily and acknowledged the role of the King Arts Complex in promoting art, culture, and education within the community. Later that day, Beatty commemorated a pivotal moment in American history—the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Board of Education. She reminded followers of its significance by stating that it "changed the course of American history" and emphasized the ongoing struggle for equal education amidst current challenges to Black history education in schools. "71 years ago today, the Supreme Court declared that separate is NOT equal."
On May 18, 2025, Beatty conveyed her support for President Joe Biden as he faced a health challenge. Joyce Beatty has been serving Ohio's 3rd District since replacing Mike Turner in 2013 after previously serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1950, she graduated from Central State University with a BA in 1972 and currently resides in Columbus.
