Joyce Beatty shares updates on housing efforts and small business support

Joyce Beatty, a prominent figure in U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 3rd district, recently shared several updates on social media. Her tweets highlighted various aspects of her work and achievements.

On May 9, Beatty expressed her commitment to affordable housing initiatives by visiting Vista Village, an affordable housing community of tiny homes in Ohio's 3rd District. She noted that while progress has been made, there are still challenges to overcome due to what she perceives as obstruction from House Republicans. The following day, May 10, Beatty celebrated Small Business Week by acknowledging the contributions of entrepreneurs to Central Ohio's economic vitality. She pledged continued support for small business owners to help them succeed and grow. "This #SmallBusinessWeek, I’m celebrating the risk-takers, job creators, and community builders who make our neighborhoods thrive. Your success is Central Ohio’s strength and soul. I’ll keep fighting for the resources small business owners need to succeed—and to scale up."

Later that day, Beatty shared her gratitude for being honored with the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award by NAWBO Columbus. She expressed appreciation for NAWBO's role in empowering women within the business community. Joyce Beatty has served in Congress since replacing Mike Turner in 2013 after a tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. Born in Dayton in 1950 and residing currently in Columbus at age 73, she holds a BA from Central State University earned in 1972.
