The following day, May 10, Beatty celebrated Small Business Week by acknowledging the contributions of entrepreneurs to Central Ohio's economic vitality. She pledged continued support for small business owners to help them succeed and grow. Joyce Beatty has served in Congress since replacing Mike Turner in 2013 after a tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. Born in Dayton in 1950 and residing currently in Columbus at age 73, she holds a BA from Central State University earned in 1972.
