Carey, who represents Ohio’s 15th district, hosted a reception to celebrate the winners of this year's competition, which saw a significant increase in participation.

In his first tweet, Carey announced, "Last night, I hosted a reception for the winners of the Congressional Art Competition for my district. We had 85 submissions this year, nearly tripling our previous record. Congratulations to Addelynn Ricketts, who won first place with her work, 'Hidden In Hues!'", on May 2, 2025.

Following this, another tweet highlighted the second-place winner of the competition, stating "In second place was Margot Dunn for her work, 'The Search'" posted on the same day.

The third tweet celebrated the third-place winner, expressing "In third place was Violet Breland for her work, 'Search For Solace'", also shared on May 2, 2025.

Mike Carey serves in the U.S. Congress, representing Ohio's 15th District since 2021, after replacing Steve Stivers. Born in Sabina, Ohio, in 1971, Carey lives in Columbus and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University in 1993.
