Joyce Beatty, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 3rd District, has taken to social media to share a series of announcements and reflections. Beatty, born in 1950 in Dayton, Ohio, has served in Congress since 2013 after a tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. She resides in Columbus and is an alumna of Central State University.

On April 19, 2025, Beatty offered her congratulations to Barbara Lee, celebrating her historic election as the first Black woman to be elected Mayor of Oakland. Beatty described Lee as a "friend," "sister," and a former colleague at the Black Caucus, acknowledging her as a "trailblazer then, now, and always."

The following day, on April 20, 2025, Beatty shared a message of hope and compassion for the Easter season. She wished a happy Easter "from my family to yours," encouraging reflection and inspiration towards a just future.

Later, on April 21, 2025, Beatty commemorated the passing of the “People’s Pope.” She reflected on his global influence, noting his "humility, compassion, and care." She extended thoughts of peace and power with his departure, acknowledging his impact around the world.
