Washington, D.C. - Representative Mike Carey (OH-15) announced today that funding for ten projects in Ohio's Fifteenth District, totaling $19,921,250, has been included in the House of Representatives fiscal year 2025 appropriations process.

“Fighting for the future of Ohio’s Fifteenth District, our infrastructure and clean water, reliable emergency services and community resources, is a job we take seriously,” said Congressman Carey. “That’s why we’re proud to have again delivered these transformative funds, which will allow our communities to thrive."

The funding was secured by Congressman Carey through Community Project Funding Requests, enabling members of Congress to request project funding within their districts. The projects funded under various FY25 appropriations acts include:

- $3,000,000 for the Emerald Connector from the DOT Highway Infrastructure Programs;

- $2,000,000 for the Franklin US 33 Corridor from the DOT Highway Infrastructure Programs;

- $2,500,000 for the Franklin Township Westland Mall Redevelopment-Essential Multimodal Infrastructure from the Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiatives Fund;

- $1,000,000 for the City of Piqua Downtown Piqua Streetscape Improvements from the Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiatives Fund;

- $737,250 for Shelby County Extension Water and Sewer Service from the Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiatives Fund;

- $750,000 for the City of Columbus Far East Train Wastewater Improvement Project from the Environmental Protection Agency State and Tribal Assistance Grants (STAG) Clean Water State Revolving Fund;

- $2,625,000 from Rural Utilities Service Rural Water and Waste Disposal Program for a new water tower in Obetz;

- $4,000,000 from Rural Housing Service Rural Community Facilities Program for Madison County Administrators Sheriff’s Department Operations and 911 Dispatch Center;

- $125,000 from DOJ OJP—Byrne Ohio Jewish Communities on behalf of Jewish Columbus;

- $3,184,000 from NIST-STRS for OSU Advanced Manufacturing—STEM Laboratories Research and Training Equipment.
