Happy Random Act of Kindness Day! How do you show kindness to the environment?
We #BuckeyeLove The Ohio State University at Mansfield right of way (ROW) pollinator demonstration plots that show kindness to the environment by providing native plants for pollinators. Plants and their pollinators form a mutualistic relationship, both benefiting each other. This form of kindness helps pollinators feed and plants reproduce.
The ROW plot at Mansfield was first seeded in 2015. Each planting area contains a different mix of native plants and there are five plots in total.
In the summer 2022, Rachel Coy and Caiden Moody, full-time Ecolab summer fellows, were pictured here measuring flower abundance and plant diversity in the First Energy pollinator plots between Ovalwood and Riedl Hall. The white flowers are Foxglove Beardtongue (Penstemon digitalis).
