Ohio Senator Theresa Gavarone, who represents the 2nd Senate District and serves as Senate Majority Floor Leader, recently shared updates on legislative efforts and community engagement through her social media posts.
On March 17, 2026, Gavarone addressed concerns about ranked choice voting in Ohio. She stated, “From decreasing voter turnout, to even having the losing candidate declared the winner, we have seen the horrors of ranked choice voting play out in several states throughout the country, but that will not happen in Ohio! Senate Bill 63, legislation I sponsored with Senator”.
The following day, March 18, she highlighted a local sporting event by posting: “March Madness kicked off yesterday in Dayton with the Hoopla event at Carillon Park, followed by the first game of the tournament! It was a special night, and I was so excited to go with my Dad, Jim Charters!”
On March 19, Gavarone reported on her participation in a community service activity: “I had a blast serving lunch to the seniors at the Wood County Committee on Aging today with BGSU President Rogers, his wife, Sandy Earle, and a BGSU Dietetics student! The Wood County Committee on Aging is a terrific resource for the seniors of Wood County, providing wonderful”.
Gavarone’s background includes experience as a member of Bowling Green City Council and as an Ohio House Representative before joining the State Senate. She holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo College of Law.
