Rep. Joyce Beatty, U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 3rd district since 2013, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on October 3, 2025.
In her first message of the day, Beatty recognized Hispanic and Latino communities, writing: "This month and year-round we celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities that strengthen our nation every day. As the dignity of our Hispanic neighbors faces increasing attacks, we can honor them by standing up for justice, respect, &" (posted October 3, 2025).
Later that day, she issued a statement against antisemitism: "Please see my statement denouncing recent acts of antisemitism at home and abroad." (posted October 3, 2025).
Addressing political disputes over government funding and healthcare access in her third post, Beatty wrote: "Republicans can’t defend this shutdown, so they’re lying about our plan to reopen and protect health care. Fact: Undocumented immigrants don’t get the tax credits we’re fighting for or comprehensive Medicaid. Joyce Beatty has served as a member of Congress for Ohio’s 3rd District since replacing Mike Turner in 2013. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. Born in Dayton in 1950 and currently residing in Columbus at age 73, Beatty is also an alumna of Central State University where she earned her BA in 1972.
