Joyce Beatty, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio's 3rd district, continues to be an active voice in addressing significant societal issues. Through her recent social media activity, she has expressed her admiration for important figures, advocated for social welfare programs, and engaged with community activities such as the Congressional Art Competition.

On April 26, 2025, Beatty recognized the legacy of Alexis Herman, the first Black U.S. Secretary of Labor. In a tweet, Beatty described Herman as "a trailblazer, a history-maker, and a true champion for justice and opportunity." She commended her efforts to support workers and promote equitable workplaces and shared a statement regarding Herman's passing.

Two days later, on April 28, 2025, Beatty showed appreciation for the leadership of her colleagues. She tweeted about feeling "grateful to head into the week energized by the leadership and vision shown by @RepJeffries and @SenBooker during this weekend’s sit-in." Hence, she reaffirmed their collective commitment to "protect Medicare and critical safety net programs" against "Republican-led efforts" to cut them. Her tweet underlined the ongoing fight to maintain these essential services and to remain united in the cause.

On the same day, Beatty issued a reminder about the 2025 Congressional Art Competition People's Choice Award. She urged Ohio's electorate to participate, highlighting that "Ohio’s talented young artists" depended on constituents to decide the fan favorite. She noted that voting was set to close on Monday, April 28.

Joyce Beatty, born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1950 and currently residing in Columbus, Ohio, represents the 3rd district. After her initial role in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008, she succeeded Mike Turner in Congress in 2013. Beatty earned her BA from Central State University in 1972.
