On May 4, 2026, Dovilla commented on ongoing scrutiny into Medicaid programs by stating, “Absolutely outrageous but after the Minnesota scandal, unsurprising. The next component of Medicaid we’ll be investigating.” He referenced a previous scandal in Minnesota as context for further investigation into Medicaid.

Although I am unopposed for the Republican nomination, our race will be contested in the General Election on November 3rd. Rep. Mike Dovilla represents Ohio’s 17th House District which includes Berea and Broadview Heights. As an incumbent running unopposed in the Republican primary for this district seat in 2026, he is expected to face opposition in the general election scheduled for November 3rd.
