The Ohio State University will continue its livestream of the Skull Session, a pregame tradition featuring the university’s marching band, for the 2025 football season. The first session will take place before the Buckeyes’ home opener against the University of Texas Longhorns at Ohio Stadium.
Fans who are unable to attend in person at St. John Arena can watch the event online via phones, tablets, or laptops. The livestream is available on the Ohio State News YouTube channel through both its website and the YouTube app.
This marks the fifth year that Ohio State’s Office of Marketing and Communications has provided a live broadcast of Skull Session before each home game throughout the season.
“We’re excited to be back for our fifth season of livestreaming Skull Session. We are bringing back our popular guest interviews as well as the flag giveaways,” said Director of National Broadcast Media Joe Camoriano. “If you tune in 2 1/2 hours before kickoff of each home game, you’ll get to see one of the best fan experiences in the country.”
Camoriano and his team use seven cameras and multiple microphones to capture different perspectives during Skull Session.
Skull Session began as a final music rehearsal for The Ohio State University Marching Band but has become a key part of game day activities for fans. Doors open three hours before kickoff, with St. John Arena often filling quickly.
During each session, TBDBITL enters playing “Fanfare for a New Era” as players and coaches arrive. Head coach Ryan Day, along with assistant coaches and players, address fans before heading to Ohio Stadium. The band then completes its last musical run-through ahead of their field performance.
