Ohio Realtors published a new column on Mar. 20 offering guidance on how real estate professionals can better manage their time and prioritize important activities. The advice comes from Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth, who outlined steps for identifying essential tasks and integrating them into weekly schedules.
The topic is relevant as real estate professionals often balance multiple responsibilities, making effective time management crucial for both personal and business success. Ohio Realtors aims to empower its members by providing resources that help uphold high standards in the industry, according to the official website.
In her column, Butcher Roth encouraged readers to distinguish between recurring actions that are truly important and those that are not. She wrote, “First, take some time to identify what actions are ABSOLUTES for you – these are the items you are either currently doing, or would like to be doing. Activities that allow you to feel the best about how you are spending your time. Remember, these are NOT ‘shoulds.’ They are actions that occur consistently at some point during your week.” She also suggested organizing projects separately from routine tasks and breaking them down into manageable pieces.
Butcher Roth advised scheduling these key activities each week and adjusting as needed: “At some point during – I prefer Sundays – get your items into your actual calendar. Each week is different, and you may have appointments that suggest your Blueprint items won’t happen. Not so fast! Perhaps that might be true, but it also could be an invitation to condense the activity into a smaller amount of time.” She emphasized flexibility and self-reflection if certain tasks repeatedly go uncompleted.
Ohio Realtors represents more than 40,000 real estate professionals across all 88 counties in Ohio through 30 local boards according to the official website. The organization supports its community with charitable efforts such as scholarships and assistance through the Ohio REALTORS Foundation according to the official website. It is directed by a board of elected leaders from within the sector according to the official website.
The association continues its advocacy for policies supporting property rights and homeownership at both state and federal levels according to the official website. By sharing practical advice like Butcher Roth’s coaching tips, Ohio Realtors seeks to provide ongoing support for its members’ professional growth.
