Congressman Mike Carey, who represents Ohio’s 15th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on social media regarding crime in Washington, D.C., a visit to a local service dog organization, and his family’s back-to-school routine.

On August 19, 2025, Carey addressed concerns about public safety in the nation’s capital. He wrote, “Crime in DC has been too bad for too long. There have been too many horror stories and victims of crime among those who live there.

America’s capital city cannot be dangerous to visit or live in, and I am glad the President is taking action.
