Earlier this week, a client spoke with Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth while working from home. The client mentioned that her robotic vacuum was in process during their call, and she was trying to find a quiet place to work. As she observed the robot, she noticed its seemingly random path, moving from room to room without a clear pattern rather than cleaning one room at a time.

This observation led the client to reflect on how humans sometimes organize their tasks similarly inefficiently. Roth’s client noted the insight, recognizing moments when people could better organize their time and activities.

Roth posed a question for reflection: “Do you ever find yourself going from task to task, feeling as if you are ‘all over the place’?” She encouraged attention to time management and suggested making a list to prioritize tasks, while emphasizing there is no right or wrong way, only what works best for each individual. Focusing on tasks enhances efficiency, whether it’s paperwork or household chores.

The concept of being present is often discussed in conversations to improve communication. Roth urged the same practice for tasks, asking people to be present and stay focused.

Marilou Butcher Roth is the owner of The MBR Group, a coaching and training company working mainly with REALTORS aiming to live and work from a more inspired perspective. She is also the Broker/Owner of Group REALTORS in Cincinnati. Additionally, Marilou serves on the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors and is a former chairman of the organization’s Communications Committee.
