One of the key principles in coaching is the belief that individuals possess their own best answers. According to Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth, everyone has the capability to navigate their life effectively. This involves accessing these internal answers by creating an environment where they can be heard.

Roth emphasizes that filling one’s mind with numerous tasks and judgments hinders awareness. Instead, focusing on appreciation and desired outcomes facilitates finding these answers. She references a 2018 incident involving a boys’ soccer team trapped in a Thai cave, where meditation helped them endure the situation. Roth suggests mindfulness practices like following one’s breath to calm both body and mind.

Achieving a state of calm allows individuals to connect with their inspired thoughts, making actions more productive than constant activity without reflection. Roth advises starting this shift with intentional breathing exercises.

She likens individuals to radio dials, suggesting that tuning into oneself requires adjusting this dial appropriately.

Marilou Butcher Roth owns The MBR Group, specializing in coaching for REALTORS seeking inspiration in work and life. She also leads Group REALTORS in Cincinnati and serves on the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors.
