Majestic Care of Whitehall ranks No. 3 among Franklin County nursing homes in Q1

Majestic Care of Whitehall ranked as the third largest nursing facility in Franklin County during the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) show.

The CMS reported the facility offered 150 beds—60 more than the Franklin County average for the quarter—and provided care for an average of 123 residents each day in that period.

The CMS gave Majestic Care of Whitehall an overall rating of 2 out of 5, trailing the Ohio statewide average rating of 3.2 for nursing homes.

In the first quarter, The Laurels of Walden Park was the largest nursing home in Franklin County, providing 225 beds, followed by Embassy of Winchester with 176 beds.

Majestic Care of Whitehall posted no fines or penalty incidents during the quarter, CMS data showed.

Franklin County was home to 42 for-profit nursing homes in Ohio as of the first quarter of 2026.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the nation’s population of older adults continues to climb as younger groups decline. The 65-and-older population rose by 13% from 2020 to 2024, while the number of residents under 18 dropped by 1.7%. The country’s older adult population has grown dramatically over the last century, increasing from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study indicated about half of this demographic—around 28 million people—are projected to need some form of long-term services and support, with over a third possibly requiring nursing home care in the future.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
