U.S. Representative Joyce Beatty, who has served Ohio’s 3rd district in Congress since 2013, marked recent anniversaries of major legislative actions and emphasized ongoing priorities in a series of social media posts.

On August 9, 2025, Beatty reflected on the anniversary of landmark technology legislation, writing, “Three years ago today, the CHIPS & Science Act was signed into law. I authored a provision to ensure communities too often left out of major investments could benefit. Since then, we’ve seen promising steps toward building a stronger semiconductor industry—boosting American”.

Two days later, on August 11, 2025, Beatty addressed Social Security’s long-standing role in American society: “90 years strong — and worth fighting for. Seniors & advocates joined me to say: hands off Social Security! 67M Americans, including 109K in #OH03, depend on it. House Democrats are not backing down, we’re stepping up.”

On August 12, she reported meeting with local veterans about federal benefits and protections: “ICYMI: Yesterday, I sat down with Columbus veterans to mark the PACT Act anniversary and hear their stories. I’ll take their voices back to Washington to maintain full PACT Act funding, strengthen protections and support for veterans, and keep the promise our nation made to those”.

Beatty is currently serving her sixth term as representative for Ohio’s 3rd congressional district after taking office in 2013 following her tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. She was born in Dayton in 1950 and now resides in Columbus. Beatty graduated from Central State University with a BA in 1972.
