U.S. Representative Joyce Beatty, who represents Ohio’s 3rd district in Congress, has recently posted several statements on her social media accounts discussing political priorities and the importance of education.

On July 22, 2025, Beatty wrote about a conversation with Major Garrett on CBS’s The Takeout, stating: ” SNEAK PEEK: I had a great conversation with Major Garrett on The Takeout about how Republicans continue to put their own political agenda ahead of hardworking Americans. Meanwhile, Democrats are focused on doing what’s needed—fighting for working families and delivering real”.

Later that day, she addressed the significance of inclusive education in another post: ” Earlier, I spoke with a group of bright young leaders about why knowing our history matters: when you know the truth, you stand a little taller—and you’re harder to silence. That’s why inclusive education is under attack. And that’s why we must keep fighting to teach all of” (July 22, 2025).

The following morning, Beatty commented on proposed funding reductions for public broadcasters: “Trump and Congressional Republicans’ massive cuts to PBS and NPR reflect one thing: fear. Fear of Americans having honest dialogue and speaking truth to power. I broke down these outrageous cuts—and more—in my interview with Major Garrett on The Takeout on CBS. Joyce Beatty has represented Ohio’s 3rd District in Congress since 2013 after serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. She was born in Dayton in 1950 and currently resides in Columbus at age 73. Beatty earned her BA from Central State University in 1972.
