Joyce Beatty, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 3rd district since 2013, has shared her views on several pressing issues via social media. Her recent posts cover topics ranging from international security to domestic incidents and military history.

On June 13, 2025, Beatty emphasized the importance of preventing nuclear proliferation in Iran. She stated, “Keeping nuclear weapons out of Iran’s hands is critical to global security.” Beatty highlighted the need for firm support of Israel’s security and protection of American forces and diplomatic personnel in the region.

The following day, June 14, 2025, Beatty addressed a violent incident involving political figures in Minnesota. She expressed her concern over the “targeted shootings of Minnesota Senator John Hoffman, his wife and State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband,” calling such acts “horrifying and unacceptable.” She extended her prayers to those affected.

Later on June 14, Beatty commemorated the U.S. Army’s anniversary by acknowledging its historical contributions to national defense. She remarked that for “250 years strong,” the Army has been instrumental in securing independence and defending freedom. She also highlighted often overlooked Black heroes who served in the Continental Army during the nation’s early years.

Joyce Beatty was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1950 and currently resides in Columbus. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central State University in 1972 and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008.
