Rep. Joyce Beatty, who has represented Ohio’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, posted a series of updates on her social media account regarding recent political developments and events involving Congress and the Trump administration.

On July 23, 2025, Beatty shared news about a Government Accountability Office (GAO) finding concerning federal education funding. She wrote, “BIG WIN: The GAO just found that the Trump admin’s Head Start funding freeze was ILLEGAL. Trump’s plan to eliminate the Head Start program—after 60 years of helping children and families—was a heartless attack on Ohio’s future. Now, we know it was against the law, too.”

The following day, July 24, 2025, Beatty addressed actions taken by House Republicans related to congressional proceedings and high-profile files. She stated, “House Republicans shut down Congress early to prevent the release of the Epstein Files. Now we know why. In MAY, the Justice Department told Donald Trump that his name appears in the files. It’s clear as day — Republicans are running scared.”

Later on July 24, Beatty recognized her office’s summer interns with a message marking National Intern Day: “Such a pleasure to celebrate our 2025 Summer DC Interns for #InternDay! From fielding constituent calls to running memos back and forth – our interns do what’s needed to serve the residents of Ohio’s Third. Thank you! And shoutout to our special guest who decided to join us on”

Joyce Beatty is currently serving her constituents in Columbus after first being elected in 2013; she previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008. Born in Dayton in 1950 and an alumna of Central State University (1972), Beatty continues her long-standing career in public service.
