Ohio State Representative Josh Williams, a Republican serving District 44, commented on recent political events and the State of the Union in a series of posts on February 25, 2026. Williams addressed his endorsement from Bryan, Ohio Mayor Carrie Schlade, and criticized Democratic responses during the address.

In his first post on February 25, Williams wrote: ” One of Marcy Kaptur’s guests to the State of the Union this evening is Bryan, Ohio Mayor Carrie Schlade. Carrie is a wonderful woman. And it’s an honor to have her endorsement in the race for Kaptur’s seat. https://t.co/C77vtgACyW”

Later that day, Williams shared observations about Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur’s behavior during President Trump’s remarks at the State of the Union: “Marcy Kaptur sat like a stone when President Trump asked Congress to stand up if they believe the American government should prioritize American over illegal aliens. The mask is fully off. After 43 years, Northwest Ohio will finally have a change in leadership this November. https://t.co/wFYBvIA647” (February 25, 2026).

He continued his commentary later that night: “Last night, Democrats refused to stand an applaud for Americans over illegals, for victims of violent crime, for victims of illegal immigration, and even for our USA hockey team. Only one party unapologetically loves this country and its people.” (February 25, 2026).

Josh Williams serves as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives’ legislative branch and has sponsored legislation addressing issues such as overdose-response protocols in schools, escaped convict alerts, and sex-offender registry protections (source: official website). He represents District 44 in Ohio.
