David Thomas, an Ohio state legislator, shared updates on social media between April 3 and April 4, 2026, covering legislative initiatives, religious observance, and personal travel.
On April 3, Thomas highlighted a bill he co-sponsored with Rep. Sarah Fowler Arthur regarding agricultural classification in Ohio law. He wrote: “Rep. Sarah Fowler Arthur and I both love maple syrup and putting certainty into Ohio’s legislative code. That is why we introduced HB 733 to officially make maple syrup an agriculture product under Ohio law. This confirms maple syrup under zoning and tax law for example.” The post refers to House Bill 733, which seeks to clarify the status of maple syrup within the state’s legal framework.
Later that day, Thomas referenced Good Friday observances in Jefferson Village by quoting scripture from Isaiah: “Good Friday- Isaiah 53:5, ‘But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.’ Cross walk tonight in Jefferson Village.”
On April 4, Thomas described a recent trip through Utah’s national parks: “Utah is stunning. Four national parks in four days- Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands National Parks plus Salt Lake City. Dozens of hikes, lots of driving, more arches than I could count, and my first and last red eye flight. This was my Christmas gift trip to Natalie”.
House Bill 733 is part of ongoing efforts by Ohio legislators to clarify agricultural definitions within state statutes for purposes such as zoning and taxation.
