David Thomas, an Ohio-based public official, recently posted a series of tweets highlighting organizational milestones, community engagement events, and concerns regarding Medicaid fraud in the state.

On May 14, 2026, Thomas announced membership growth within a statewide political organization: “The Ohio Young Republicans @OhioYRs have exceed 1,000 members! Joined the OYR group and many folks in Cleveland recently to celebrate. Levi, Brandon, and I got Mitchell’s Ice-cream after!”

Later that same day, Thomas promoted an upcoming event featuring legislative outreach: “Join Rep. Kellie Deeter for Ohio and me on May 18th for an upcoming Lattes with Legislators event in Vienna Township hosted by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber! Visit their website to RSVP.”

On May 15, 2026, Thomas addressed policy issues related to state healthcare programs: “The Medicaid Fraud Issue in Ohio is real and preventable. The legislature has attempted in each budget to reign in Medicaid and put safety measures in place but have been stopped at nearly every turn. The Audits and works now by Rep. Dovilla, Auditor Faber, and others now that”

Ohio’s Medicaid program has faced ongoing scrutiny regarding fraud prevention efforts. Legislative attempts to implement additional oversight have been met with resistance during budget negotiations over recent years. The referenced audits by Rep. Dovilla and Auditor Faber are part of a broader push for accountability within the state’s healthcare system.
